(Although in my experience, I wouldn't even say "vast majority"--I've seen too darn many abscesses, tumors, aneurysms, etc., and I'd wager it's more like "small to moderate majority..." As you yourself have stated, that's why it's nice to have a post mortem exam--amazing what is revealed when you THOUGHT the horse was just overridden...)
