An endurance-ride free market does not exist in the US ?as the AERC (and really all) sanctioning processes determine what rides might be put on when within any given area (i.e. its a regulated market).A poorly attended ride, or even one boycotted by the riders, will continue if the sanctioning organization does not let any alternative events occur to challenge the lost leader. (ref the recent november AZ 100 mile ride sanctioning rejection)
