Question:  Can beet pulp be effective as a preventitive against sand colic as much as psylium is said to be?

I've been reading up on flax seed, and some sites are laying claim that flax seed is also good for moving sand out. I think I googled "flax seed horses" or something like that, trying to get more info on flax seed in general, and using it to move sand came up.
