Re: [RC] [RC] Internet dialog - Soli SorokinI call baloney. Criticism is a foundation for free thought, free speech, and is necessary for people to grow outside their own realm of influence/experience. Part of criticism is sometimes saying things that others view as "not nice", and having such things said to you. Part of the qualities of tolerance and self-esteem lie in being personally strong enough to listen to others opinions (regardless of how they are worded) without taking offense, and to truly evaluate the opposing position without prejudice. All that said, it's also wise to choose your battles, lest you become viewed only as a nitpicking harridan.
