Re: [RC] New Years in NM - John Teeter

it was a small ride. it was also cold. and ... BUT, I did see the most amazing run -?truly?a world class run, made by Valerie Knavy - On the first loop, she was leading, got off trail (did a repeat of one section of the yellow loop) AND her horse escaped while she was off mecterating - a 1.5 hr loss of time. When I first saw her, on the second loop, she was maybe 40 min behind the last place rider. Through the day, she passed and passed riders (Kevin said he was passed 6 times) and she finished ..... first by a good margin on a horse that had more. It was?truly?amazing.?

There are other things to mention about this ride (some of which I even warned the FEI guys that I would editorialize about) -- but more on that later (along with the final results - Shieka Madiya finishing 2nd and only one of the gutsy Malaysians still on trail riding with Ozaki (sp?) san of Japan. ?

It was a VERY interesting day - one to remember for many reasons.?

but now, i will sleep as Jose and I must address this trail in the morn!!!

Well, the day has begun and I have escaped for a bit to the local Starbucks to get warm.
