Hello Christina,
So... here's a couple of thoughts ;-)
First EB Bares are not designed to be put on over steel shoes so that 
might not work. Second before doing an endurance ride with Bares you 
should ride some long tough training rides to make sure you have a 
good snug fit on the bottoms and that the gators do not rub your 
horse raw. Good Luck,
