What's even sadder is that the show world has rewarded exaggeration and completely lost the original intent behind the breed. ASBs and TWHs were bred to cover long distances on a plantation comfortably. Traveling preachers rode them because they could ride all day without being bounced around. The horses were meant to travel smoothly and effortlessly. Entirely different from the high stepping park and big lick horses the breeds have come to be. Same thing with the Morgans. Gadzooks, Justin Morgan must be rolling over in his grave.
