Re: [RC] FEI rule against owners in crewing area - Diane TrefethenYou're joking, right? I said GOOD reason. If each horse/rider team is allowed 3 crew people and a given team wants the crew to be the owner and his/her two bodyguards who know zip about horses and just stand there and this is the protocol this particular team employed to GET to the FEI event, other than the Chef d'Equipe for that country, who should care? FEI can, and probably should, have rules about exposed guns but if the two heavys are not displaying weaponry and the country's Chef d'Equipe has no problem with the "crew", EXACTLY what is the procedural problem that should concern FEI?Besides, as you said, "Some" owners. The vast majority of owners who crew are not of the body guard flavor. Those folks tend to not like getting their Gucci shoes dirty. John Teeter wrote: how about - (Some) Owners require body guards to accompany them. You let the owner in and the body guards just muscle on through. (and the body guards can'be be crew guys too b/c of their earJacks and guns and stuff!) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
