Re: [RC] re: speed at multidays - Truman Prevatt

Vet lines are a whole nother kettle of fish. We don't see those much in the SE. Yes that could slow you down. I guess back in the SE we now have so many rides to chose from that one with long vet lines would not be around for very long. Normally I'm into pulse as soon as he is down - actually I head in when he hits the magic number and he is down when I get there (great to ride a horse long enough to know him). Then through the vet and with a 40 minute hold - sitll at least 35 minutes to eat.

So if you have vet lines - maybe you should be protesting to the ride management.

All I have to say is you're way better at it than we are in getting in and out of those checks. I have the same experience at Karen with multiple holds.

Where I really found that out was when I went back to do a couple of LDs on the new boy James Dean. Wow, did I have to ride faster than I do on a 50 to get those 25's done in time! Multiple vet holds meant multiple times in line. I've spent at least 15 minutes in the Gate into a Hold P&R line many times, just getting to my hold. One time I spent almost 30 minutes in that line. Some rides give you a little sticky note with your arrival time on it (which is different than your P&R time) and others do not. I have never paid attention to whether they take that into consideration on your finish time since it usually doesn't matter to me. I don't think they do. But the time I waited 30 minutes in line, there were no stickies, and I was OT for that ride. I still got credit for it because I was only over by 2 minutes.
