i remember when those horses were on the internet adoption briefly.  i wanted to bid on one of them.  i thought, yep, there is my "hidalgo".   i wondered why they took them off the auction.  it is nice to know the rest of the story.

 

i did get a five year old mustang stallion last may. i named him "jefe", because the wranglers said he was the boss of the barn.  it took a while to "get inside his head", about 90 days.  i got him started under saddle, and after 30 days of riding, did the river run 50 miler with him last november.   i sold him to a really sweet young lady from georgia and she has done several ld rides with him, including river run last weekend.

 

mustangs can sure be a challenge, but if you get a good one, they are really something.          cowboy ed
