Re: [RC] US Rider Motor Plan - Chris Paus

Oh let me tell you. I've been meaning to sign up with US Rider for a couple of years now, but just never got "roundtuit." I was kicking myself last Sunday when I was driving home from a most perfect trail ride with a friend. just dropped her and her horse off at their stable, and headed home down a very very busy Interstate highway, through Kansas City.

I just merged off one Interstate highway to another one when a van drove around me with a lady leaning out her window waving frantically and pointing at my truck. I had no idea what she wanted, but figured I'd better pull over and see. Sometimes my side tack door pops open, I thought that's what I'd find, close it and be on my way again.

BUT NO.... The telltale smell of burned rubber hit my nostrils as soon as I got out of the truck. The right rear trailer tire was shredded. it was 4 p.m. on a Sunday. No place to limp along to for help. My trailer rides a little high in the front end, so I can't really just drive along without that rear tire. I guess the good news is that I now know my truck and trailer handle a blowout well. I never even felt it.

Had a good spare and a jiffy jack, but no tire iron in the truck. Dang it. (not what I really said). Why oh Why didn't I have US Rider???? Called DH (dear hubby), who drove 45 minutes to come rescue me.  Meanwhile, thousands of vehicles whizzed past us on one side, a big ol honkin coal train came by on the other side. Even a motorcycle cop zoomed by without stopping!  I was darned glad that I had my calmest horse, Zab, in the trailer. Had it been Star when that train came by, I might not have much of a trailer left. He hates trains. Zab, luckily, just munched his hay.

DH and grandson arrived just as we were losing daylight, got the tire changed and they followed me home.

Yes, I have now enrolled in US rider!

Hi -

Someone told me about US Rider, can anyone tell me if they are as good as this person told me? Is it worth the money?
