[RC] Selenium (again) - Kathy Kelly

I was surprised and disappointed at Gabriel's most recent SE test results.
3 mos ago I discovered he was SE deficient (serum level .15) and I began
supplementing 5 mg of SE daily. He has shown no symptoms since then
(before he had dark pee a few times, although he never tied up or had
muscle soreness) and I expected his levels to be up, but his most recent
results came in even lower (.10).

My vet has advised increasing his SE again (although he didn't give me a
specific amount) and waiting another 3 months to retest. I have just
increased his daily SE intake to 8mg.

I'd appreciate any advice from those who have experience with this issue.
BTW his Vit E levels are fine.

On another note, over the past several years I have noticed him having a
very slight nosebleed as often as once a month (not associated with
excercise). I have been watching him very closely the past few months, and
have seen no signs of a nosebleed since I began supplementing the SE.
Anyone aware of any relationship?
