Re: [RC] what to do with the old horse - Nancy Sturm

Our foster daughter rode in a therapeutic riding program (for disabled
youngsters) and all of the horses there were senior citizens. They
received wonderful care and extreme amounts of handling and attention.
Although I feel strongly that it's a matter of stewardship to repay years
of usefulness with great geriatric care, if I couldn't make that possible,
I'd love to see an old horse of mine donated to one of the many programs
that works with disabled riders.

The first thing I'd like to say to our guest with the
old horse is DON'T WRITE A WHOLE MESSAGE IN ALL CAPS.

It's hard to read and it's considered shouting!

Couldn't a writer use an occasional capitalized word for emphasis without
it
being considered shouting? I use this method when I want to emphasize
something, just as I would in speech. Not knowing all that much about
netiquette, I have been emphasizing the occasional word. Please educate
me.
And I do agree that a message all in capitals is difficult to read.

Barbara
