[RC] the good and bad of alfalfa? - Ed Kilpatrick

first lori,  a quick but important lesson in terminology.  you are getting ready for your first endurance RIDE,  not race.   say it again, ENDURANCE RIDE.   ok, thats better.  :-)

you got good advice on the alfalfa.    i like to use alfalfa cubes.  comes in a bag, easy to haul, easy to feed, horses usually love it.   i put a few cubes in with their beet pulp/grain mix, wet it down good, and they clean it up.

if you feed alfalfa hay and grass hay,  i would say that 1 part alfalfa hay to 4 parts grass hay should be a pretty good ratio.          ed
