[RC] Favorite Rides in 2004 - JonniXP2004, from Nevada to Nebraska. June 21-July 23 Sharing days on the road, and days on the trail with other riders who are there mostly for the same reason. To see the country as Pony Express riders, and emigrants saw it centuries before us. Riding not to "win", but to ride another day...and another day, and another day after that. I am guessing this will probably be the last ride of this type. An experience that will never be forgotten, nor duplicated. I crewed the one in 2001, and it was different than 2004. Great memories and friendships made on both. The "Ducks" ideas on endurance riding have shown us that horses can go day after day, after day. That riders CAN work together, and with management to get through many obstacles faced along the way. That we don't need fresh lemonade and cookies, and vet check after vet check to care for our horses, and ourselves. That will always be one of my very favorite rides of ALL time.
