Re: [RC] Favorite Rides in 2004 - Coujurs1

1)  Leatherwood Mountain Challenge in North Carolina, probably will always be at least one of my favorites!  One of the most beautiful trails, great management and tough (not to mention great awards).  Also this year I got to ride with two of my mostest (I know that's not a word) favorite people, Steve and Dinah Rojek.  I talked to them for a while telling them they needed to come and try it.  Also Leatherwood (Ferguson North Carolina) is a great place to train!

2)  Biltmore Challenge  Chewy's first 100.  Other than almost getting struck by lightning twice, and getting soaked.  It is really pretty, challenging trail.  I like a challenge.  Nothing beats crossing the finish line of a 100 miler, on a horse you and your spouse have done all the training on.

3)
Million Pines, even though I just went and worked, this is a great ride.  Ride meeting and awards dinner are a hoot!  Wesley does a fabulous job.  Good food, and an always well marked trail.

4)  Fort Stanton.  Very beautiful trail, challenging.  Food was fantastic!  And the forest on fire across the highway made for some interesting scenery.
