OTOH, Tim Twietmeyer (#510) ran with the horses at Tevis this year,  and
was 10th across the finish line.  But he wasn't slowed down by  the
holds required of the horses -- he could just keep running.

Thanks for pointing that out, Lynn.  I had a private post on the subject
as well.  When one compares times, one has to compare actual "ride" times
to "run" times.  To get an actual comparison, one would have to delete the
hold times (three-plus hours) from the 10th place horse's time.  So the
top runner was actually three-plus hours slower than the 10th place
horse...
