The most important thing about static measures is ? they are just that.  Saddles have to fit when the horse is in motion with the rider atop.  Because a saddle fits while the horse is standing still, may not mean a thing when the horse is moving and the rider is a factor.

 

**Lisa, I have been saying this for years.....and a good test is to have a friend pony a horse with a dorsal stripe, or in the case of Arabs....a countershading stripe.....ride behind the horse and watch how the stripe moves side to side, undulates and goes up and down.  It boggles the mind to believe a rigid tree could fit that.
