Jim,

Since you feel so strongly about it, and since this is an organization of
volunteers, why don't you take it upon yourself to volunteer to start a
campaign to help raise money to support the national championship ride.
That way you actually can see how many members want to help underwrite the
national championship ride.  It's very easy and confortable to sit at the
computer and be critical of an organization and it's board about what they
do and don't do, rather than pitch in and help where you see a need.  I'll
send you $10 for the campaign.
