okay I am REALLY letting my ignorance show - what is a .kmz file?

a kmz file is the thing created in google earth when you select a "path" and do a "save" -- it is a standard track-log, like you would get from a gps, compressed using pkzip techniques. You can load it into your gps and "follow" it; you can share it with other google earth people and they can see it.

check out the interactive map (after you have installed google earth) here:

(p.s. you may want to be on a virtual team to get REALLY good technical support!!:)
