I've experienced that. I suggest lengthening your stirrups - you're probably putting too much weight in them at too much of an angle. Ideally, when your legs are hanging relaxed (not pushed straight) and your feet are held parallel to the ground, you should only have to lift your toes to get your feet in the stirrups. If you have to lift your whole foot up, your stirrups might be too short for you. Try that for a few miles and see if it helps.
