Re: [RC] Bandaging - Diane Trefethen

Hi Kathy,

Since no one else responded I'll drop my 2 cents worth. If you try to vet in with one leg bandaged, the vet will probably want to see what's under the bandage. Maybe not, but probably. So vet in without the bandage and tell the vet that you will be riding with a bandage on the leg with the cut so the vet secretary can note that on your card. Then ride with it on. When you present for your completion exam, hand the vet your card and ask if you can leave the bandage on. The vet may say yes or may say no. However, if you are going to show for a best condition award, you will need to remove the bandage just as you'd be expected to remove splint boots so the vet can thoroughly examine the leg. After you're through, re-bandage.

Will he vet in ok if I want to try to ride him with at a 25 mile endurance ride this weekend? Are bandages allowed?

Kathy
