Re: [RC] [RC] Helmet Help from the gals please? - RavenDoes anyone ever ride in a bicycle helmet or have a helmet that is much higher up in the back? Bike helmets are not rated for horseback riding. Your noggin will not be safe in a bike helmet while riding a horse. BTW...you want a riding helmet that protect the lower part of your head...that is why most riding helmets are cut low in the back. I think most falls from a horse ....are backward falls...so you need that area of your head protected. I'm finding myself not wearing my helmet on everyday rides because it's too uncomfortable. Not a good thing Sorry to hear this. I rather cut my hair off than not wear a helmet. Have you tried different size helmets ...ones that adjust in the back? Good luck!
