[RC] Tying up - mrsd

Tying up.


My old horse  JS Bach has tied up twice.  Tevis & Virgina City 100.

Finally solved the problem by eliminating alfalfa & giving 2000 units of Vitamin
E Daily.  He recieves no grain & we use beet pulp for vitamins etc.  May grain
him a cup of COB at hour stops..... Grass hay & 3 way.

He has finished 4 Tevis rides in a row & 7 other 100s doing his 3000 plus
miles.

If I had a horse that has this problem I would not feed any grain.   He's 23..

If it is a little under weight it won't hurt it.
