[RC] The Old Way (now slaughtering) - apachepetra

I don't normally post on here and especially about any issue that is
contriversial but I had to chime in here and say that I feel that Heidi is
100% correct with the following statements:

"Actually, it is a huge relapse into "inhumanity"--although we seem to
have lost sight of the fact that horses are not "humans" and that what is
needed is "horse welfare." There is nothing even REMOTELY "humane" about
preventing death so that horses can starve slowly instead of being killed
quickly. It boggles my mind how anyone can claim to love horses and not
understand this basic premise."

"I'm all for taking steps to ensure that slaughter is done in a humane way
(which, btw, refers not to treating them as humans as "humanity" suggests,
but rather treating them ethically because we as humans can do that), but
there is nothing even remotely progressive about forcing unwanted horses
to live miserable lives!"
