RE: [RC] [RC] pets OT/long - Jennifer AdamWe've had similar situations here. We live on 1600 acres and have always let our Great Danes run loose - BUT the first thing we did was teach them the boundaries of our yard and the main farmyard. They *never* leave the main home place, unless they happen to be riding in the truck with their tongues hanging out the window! :PUnfortunately, all our neighbors let their dogs loose too and they are not as conscientious about training them. My husband shot two dogs after they came in my yard, killed three of my cats and mangled one of our new pups. Our Danes killed the other dog. It broke my heart - it certainly wasn't their fault at all - they were starving and totally feral. But I can't have a pack of wild dogs threatening my kids or my animals!!! I love dogs too - but it's scary to see a totally out of control pack come chasing out of the trees onto your property and just go straight for your animals... Thank God I got my kids in the house before the dogs came after them!!!
