[RC] VVClassic: My First Loops - John Teeter

Well, I'm in the running now byGolly!!

I just did two loops (well it WAS a repeat); one on Rhett (at speed to try to get him at least breathing hard - it's REALLY flat here) and one on Jose (at @8mph pace). Finished the vet check and have the data BUT - I think I will hold off publishing my vet card BECAUSE...

It turns out HRH is riding the same loop tomorrow (maybe I can get him to enter the VVClassic??:)? and I think the SecretService guys would appreciate it if the whole world didn't know the track-log until after that happens...

So, A fun ride - on the warm-up loop used by world class FEI horses - an 8 mile out and back that is made to gallop at speed. a real gas.

More later today. The boys are sleeping in the warm sun. It's quiet now EXCEPT... Did I mention the 50 mph wind blowing most of Arizona (or is it Cal) over to Louisiana. Advisories on the freeway and they expect traffic to be halted later today. It was just starting when I had Rhett out? and we were going so fast as to not really notice it till the end.

BUT ... Jose has NOT had to deal with tumbleweeds like these before. They jump at you and chase you and you can see them coming across the desert and you KNOW they are going to roll right between your legs ... But I stayed on and we had a great workout - with lots of high heart rates and not lots of running.
