Her in TN it is illegal to sell a horse without a 6 mo Coggins (not that it
doesn't still happen all the time). The seller is legally responsible for
the test, but I have paid for it as a buyer just to make sure it actually got
done. Around here it is $17- $25 to have it done depending on wether you
haul the horse in or they come to the farm. Of course if they come to
the farm you have the trip fee too- $50.
My vet also has very cool new paperwork that has color pics of
the horse on the Neg coggins papers, apparently it is 'the new thing'.
