Funny thing is, I condition with my neighbor who is a 3 day eventer (and my equittion instructor) and she has a Holsteiner and we were going to do 3 minutes of cantering. Her horse was cantering along, and my girl had to kick it up to 4th gear - a gallop, to keep up. I said "canter, hell" but it was fun. I really thought it was faster than 17.2, tho. First time I ever thought my horse felt small! I loaned my neighbor a sheepskin cover and EZ ride stirrups and she accused me of trying to convert her! She will do an LD with me end of October.
