RE: [RC] So many questions, no little time//Mash Soaking - Katrina Mosshammer

A trick that has worked for us, is to have a couple of frozen-solid water
bottles and stick them in the top of our feed pan when we leave in the
morning. We did this at the Texas ride in May and when we got back the beet
pulp was still nice and cool and the water bottles still had some ice in it.
Works for us.

What's the longest you can soak a mash if you're crewing for yourself? If
there's a 30 mile loop before lunch, and it's hot even in the AM, do you
worry the mash will spoil/ferment/have a high bacteria count by lunch tme?
thanks.
