[RC] little time//Mash Soaking - heidi larson

I use the shredded beet pulp and take a container/baggie of
beet pulp, some pelleted feed and oats. Mix it and in less
than 5 min. I have a nice mash. Usually mix it before we
see the vet, by the time we're done, it's ready. Of course
he'd still rather eat the neighbors feed though! :)

What's the longest you can soak a mash if you're crewing
for yourself? If
there's a 30 mile loop before lunch, and it's hot even in
the AM, do you
worry the mash will spoil/ferment/have a high bacteria
count by lunch tme?
thanks.

[snip] Have a mash soaking while you are out,
and you are set when you get in.
