I called up FreeForm and talked to Heather.  I'm not sure who Heather is, 
but she is very nice to do business with.  She sent me a lovely mohair girth 
on trial.  It's an interesting shape...narrow and tightly woven on the 
buckle ends, spreading out into a wide diamond shape in the center.  It has 
two rings which makes it nice for hooking up the breastplate.  Lud and I 
took at good brisk ride today, about 1-1/2 hours and several miles of steep 
and technical trails, both up and down .  Jess went well, the saddle didn't 
seem to lean, and his back is not sore.  In the past, local training rides 
didn't make his back sore, although the saddle did lean to one side or the 
other.  I'm hopeful for this girth.  I'll give it a few more trials and hope 
it proves itself.
