Re: [RC] Changing the subject.... - Barbara McCrary

I called up FreeForm and talked to Heather. I'm not sure who Heather is, but she is very nice to do business with. She sent me a lovely mohair girth on trial. It's an interesting shape...narrow and tightly woven on the buckle ends, spreading out into a wide diamond shape in the center. It has two rings which makes it nice for hooking up the breastplate. Lud and I took at good brisk ride today, about 1-1/2 hours and several miles of steep and technical trails, both up and down . Jess went well, the saddle didn't seem to lean, and his back is not sore. In the past, local training rides didn't make his back sore, although the saddle did lean to one side or the other. I'm hopeful for this girth. I'll give it a few more trials and hope it proves itself.

Thanks Barbara. You obviously read it in the light I meant it. Love it, leave it, or change it, but don't complain about something you are unwilling to be a part of changing. Whatever that "be a part of" means for each individual is up to them, but in no case do I agree with berating someone just because they don't agree with you.

Funny, I don't see anything wrong with that quote at all. Seems pretty sensible to me.

"Bottom line, if you don't like it, live with it,
don't do it, or get involved! But don't berate
those who are volunteering their time to make
a difference!"

brings back shades of the 60's and early 70's to the classic "Love it or Leave it" in referring to the Vietnam war protest. Not only a pretty narrow view but also fairly non-productive.
