RE: [RC] Parelli and Natural Horsemanship - kathy . mayeda

I was at first put off by a Parelli-ite who was trying to boss me around a little in what I was doing right and doing wrong with my horse.  I was a little irritated with it, but I took her on a little ride - a little slower than my normal training pace.  Then she figured out I wasn't that green and I could outride her anytime, anywhere.  She's been a good friend since and has a heart of gold (like a Jewish mama).   She even wants me to take her on an LD someday.  I told her she just plain needs to learn to ride balanced (and not from me because I'll nag).  She's now taking lessons from a non-Parelli (but NH ala Harry Whitney) trainer right now who is absolutely fabulous.  It's because of her I joined the Bay Area Savvy Players, and I haven't regretted it a bit.

So bottom line - best to not make judgments and keep your options open.  You never know what you may learn and what you may teach others!
