If someone can afford to shoe a horse. Can afford to fuel a truck. Can
afford camping fees to horse camp. And can afford new tack...then they
sure as heck as afford to humanely euthanaize a horse, pay for a
backhoe or call a rendering truck.

The passion one may feel to keep all horses from a particular fate must be balanced by the ability of their human caretakers to provide for their wellbeing. While *you* may be able to afford the costs of supporting a horse into its old age and then burying it on your back 40 or euthanizing and hauling it away, many can't. The above comment is insensitive and completely ignores the fact that many horse owners are NOT Endurance or Show Horse owners but are poorer people who have become rich because they have a friend in their "backyard".
