I was taken on a tour (by a French endurance rider) to see a cathedral in 
France once...it was built in the 13th century, if I remember correctly. 
She pointed out the damaged faces of the stone lions at the entrance, 
chopped up by some adversary I don't remember now.  But...to stand and look 
at something that old and still being used causes "goosebumps."
