Endurance.Net Ridecamp Archives

I wonder if that's different here in the west.  There are probably more
residences near certain forested areas here than there were before, but I
can think of scores of abandoned towns, hotels, stage stops, farms here in
Oregon that were once populated and now no longer exist.

Just in the 45 years we've been here many of these old buildings have
disappeared.  One whole community near us was covered by water when the
Applegate river was dammed.

I have a friend who grew up in England.  She is amazed by the way we tear
down historic structures here in the west.
