Re: Spam:****, RE: [RC] FW: [RC] Going back in time... - Barbara McCraryIt is so much easier to tear down history in the west, because we built out of our primary available material, lumber. The west suffered much destruction in the form of burned down buildings (think kerosene lanterns and wood stoves), whereas, in the east, as in Europe, many buildings were built of stone and still exist. Western mentality is somewhat different, too. I have noticed it compared to experiences of traveling in Europe and our few times in the east USA. My assessment: westerners were the adventurous, restless ones who left families and familiar homes to test the unknown wilderness. Some of that mentality still exists...It's a little hard to explain, but that's my assessment...in a short version.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Sturm" <sturmranch@xxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2007 5:55 AM Subject: Re: Spam:****, RE: [RC] FW: [RC] Going back in time... I have a friend who grew up in England. She is amazed by the way we tear down historic structures here in the west. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
