I have a large garbage can for each type and about every month or six weeks, I drive a pickup load to the local landfill and recycling center...newspapers, cardboard, magazines, office paper, tin, aluminum, plastics, plastic bags, scrap metal...all go. I would recycle more if only they would take odd bits of paper, plastic, and whatnot that comes with opening boxes and bottles of salad dressing, etc. I usually have only one can of trash every 6 weeks, along with the balance of stuff that is all recyclable. I'm so grateful for the ability to recycle...it relieves my sense of guilt over all the packaging we think we need in this country.
