FW: [RC] How tree hugging hurts the environment - Mike SherrellA lot of archaeologists say that early North American humans exterminated a bunch of big game species like the mammoths and giant sloths too. The older I get the more misanthropic I become. How many species are we going to eliminate with global warming? Heidi There are still deer, antelope and elk grazing...alongside the cattle. Our area is not native land for antelope and elk, but we have more deer than you can believe. Around here, the native peoples burned the land so that it produced more of the vegetation deer prefer and so the deer were easier to hunt. Burning also encouraged the growth of wild berries.
