I've had good luck with putting Perform N Win in the feed - it's very  
palatable. You won't get the quantity that you'd get with syringing  
but it seems adequate as long as the horse is eating/drinking. Oats,  
a handful of P&W and a handful of rice bran , with enough water to  
make it sloppy - I haven't had it refused yet.  I've pretty much  
stopped syringing electrolytes.
