Re: [RC] [RC] big butts on endurance horses - Beth Walker

I've always thought that halter and show ring exhibitions are backwards. ?They showcase the babies, or 'show' winners. ?If the rules were changed so that the halter shows were for proven performance horses only, they might fulfill their original purpose of rewarding good conformation. ?Same for dogs -- require all the dogs to have a Utility Dog title, etc. ?

Now, beef cattle ... that's a bit different. ?Really hard to show a good-eating steak at halter. ?:)

Not only horses, but dogs and cattle (to a lesser extent, perhaps.)? It seems to be the halter classes that have been the detriment of the horse for many breeds.
