Re: [RC] Who to blame for high fuel costs - on Ridecamp??? - Barbara McCrary

I think we've discussed that one, too.

I agree, and wish there were a way to reduce oil consumption.  There must be a way.  I don't like selling the soul of our country for oil.  It's a dangerous policy.

I am one of those "so-called" environmentalists and I don't advocate a one-day boycott. I don't think that will solve anything.   I also don't think that opening up new oil fields is an effective solution to address skyrocketing gas prices.  That will only address the symptoms and not the root cause of the issue which is dependence on oil.  In my opinion, we need to invest our efforts in alternative energy solutions and reduce consumption.

Everyone has their own opinion of what should be done.  And we're each entitled to think and vote independently.  But I'm not sure why we're talking about this issue on Ridecamp.  Aren't we supposed to be talking about horses?  What's next, capital punishment?

The so-called environmentalists and the politicians in their pockets want you to got out and boycott the local gas station.  That way, you won't see that it is them, not the oil industry that is behind this problem.  It's the old "Texas Two-Step,"

dazzle 'em with your footwork and they won't see you taking the wallet from your back pocket.

Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell?
