Re: [RC] Can anyone tell me the color of my horse? - Beth Walker

Well, I wouldn't call it grulla, either.? There is no dorsal stripe, so you can't properly call him a dun or a grulla.? If I had to guess (which I am), I would say his base color is liver chestnut -- the mane & tail look more brown than black to me --? modified by the spotting.? I think there is a name for the kind of spots he has - it sure isn't standard !

good luck!??

Hi Elly,
?
Does he have a dorsal stripe?? Grulla is a form of dun which means he must have a dorsal stripe to be grulla.? Also, how old is he, and what color were his parents.? My arab gleding was the same color until he was about 5 when it became apparent he was very slowly going grey.

Hey guys.? I've included a couple of shots of my new endurance prospect, Cricket.? He's an Arab/Appy, although attitude is all arab.? Needless to say, I cannot name his color to save my life.? The lady I bought him from said he was grulla, but he doesn't really look all that grulla to me.

Anyways, here they are!
