My husband rode my favorite horse once in a 50-miler and placed second by only a squeak. Courage was 14.2, weighed 780#, and my husband was 5'10", weighing about 170#. He rode an English saddle, which kept the weight down, but still...he must have tacked up at about 185-190#. Small horses do not necessarily translate to not being able to carry weight.

She is now 3 1/2 years old and has made it to 752 pounds according to my weight tape and is 14hh in height.
