The whole "gotta check them out before we invite them in" thing was to make sure these people had a little information in them *before* they showed up at a ride. That was a big deal! THAT'S IT!!! PERSPECTIVE. Thanks to Michelle for finally nailing what I think a lot of "new" (post-1997) people, including myself, who have not been "recruited" were trying to say and thanks to Angie for explaining it to us.
