oh gosh, if you only iknew Angie, you'd know this assessment of her is completely off base! She is the last person to degrade others. She pokes fun at herself and in doing that, all of us who have done the same things can relate and laugh our heads off.

When I was just starting in the sport and knew nothing, Angie was one of the first people on ridecamp to offer me encouragement and give me pep talks to get out there and ride. Now that I've been doing this awhile, I can look back at myself and have a good laugh.

Endurance is a whole different world of equestrian endeavors than any other sport. And I've found it to be more open and available. You dont' have to buy a $300 hunt coat and $200 pair of breeches. You dont' have to spend a ton of money on glitz and glamour. You can have a horse wiht a pedigree up the wazoo, or a grade horse you got from an auction. You can ride in the tack you have or spend money on other stuff.

You can ride at the back or the front of the pack or in the middle. Ive never had anyone talk badly to me cause I vie for turtle cause they all know it's an accomplishment to finish and do the miles.

When I started, Angie's "lighter side" articles cracked me up even though some of the  zingers were over my head at the time.

It's all a matter of perspective. I used to take myself extremely seriously, thought I had to constantly "prove" myself, walked a mile to get my feelings hurt. Now I realize life is far to short to be upset by the small stuff. It's a whole lot more fun to be a glass half full kind of person and see the humor in every day things in life.
