Those are just the ones who don't shorten their stirrups for
competition and are trying to reach them!

I actually lengthen my stirrups for competition.  Short stirrups make
for sore knees.  They are two holes shorter for jumping (and even then,
they are a bit longer than most people jump with) and one hole shorter
for dressage.
