I agree - we have set up a care fund for our horses (and other animals) that 
will hopefully provide for any expenses associated with keeping them 
comfortably and taking care of them after death. However, I wanted to make 
sure the people we asked to take them in the event of our deaths would have 
enough financial resources that adding my horses - even with their care fund 
- would not burden them if something unexpected were to come up. I also 
wanted to make sure that the money I designated for my horses would, in 
fact, go to my horses!!
