[RC] What horses teach - Spottedracer

When we choose to listen,
They have the patience to teach.
No matter how long you've been trainin'
There's so much more you don't know.
Regardless of how good your ridin'
There's always ways to improve

As a trainer, they taught me tenacity
I took this back to school with me
It's helped me in earning my degrees.
I've met horses that excel in multiplicities
jumps, endurance and barrel racing.
This lesson helped me immensely
After finishing my degree in biology
I added a year for a second in Chemistry..

As a rider, they taught me dedication
to learn, to master, regardless of situation.
I took this back to my scholastic re-education,
Every subject I regarded with high motivation.
No, not just going through the motions,
But to truly learn each foundation
And condider Dean's list - the peak of competition.
The only acceptable summation.

As an owner, they taught me responsibility
Only the best, met my acceptability
I took this back to the university
Regardless of my pre-conceived ability
Skipping classes no longer a possibility
Each professor exclaimed my predictability.

They taught me patience, as a riding instructor
To learn and enjoy, how different students learn.
I take this lesson to the suburbs,
And to the city schools with the poor.
As I student teach as required
So that I may get teaching licensure.
Riding students so much differ
Since they really want to be there!

Yes, horses can teach quite a lesson
If you'll just have the patience to listen.
Every lesson deals with daily life
Maybe you can learn and have the foresight.
To use these lessons to excel
