At those speeds a two-point position would be necessary.? For those not into "English riding terms,"??The rider rises slightly out of the saddle, closing the hip angle and balancing over his or her lower leg. When learning this position, the rider should hold the mane to help maintain balance.? If you find yourself tipping forward or backward, your stirrup length may need to be adjusted for two-point position.? Check out photos of eventing riders during the cross country phase and you'll see some examples of two-point position.
